Animal Reproduction and Development

Prerequisites: ANSC 100 or Introductory Biology
An optional lab, ANSC 2410, is offered for 1 credit. It is limited to 30 students and can be taken by students who have already taken ANSC 300/2400 or who are currently taking it.
This course is designed to familiarize students with the physiological basis for reproduction in animals and related reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and embryo transfer. The primary objective is to learn the fundamental principles of reproductive physiology and the basis for their application in established and emerging reproductive technologies. Emphasis in the course will be on mammals and birds, including domestic and companion animals, wildlife, and humans.
